The Black Regime
Part One:
The origins of an Enigma
The Creature Wrestler known as UndeadEnigma first debuted at a small independent federation two miles from Camden Ohio, under the name "Bryan Bizarre," The creature was instantly recognized as a force to be reckoned with despite his small stature, and mild ring appearance. It was charisma that drove Bizarre to take a different path. It was in Camden that Bizarre discovered the potential of psychological manipulation. Blessed with a natural cunning intellect, Bizarre soon talked his way to the top card in Ohio, convincing promoters that his in ring skill would improve with each show, and that the true bank ability would derive from his ability to create hate and animosity between his fellow wrestlers.
The move made him the most hated Creature and soon crowds were clamoring for his blood, and the end of his career. Between matches Bizarre read, and learned from martial arts techniques, studying wrestling and grappling methods befriending his colleagues.
Soon the fed hit tough times, and a change was in the air. The small wrestling camp was desperate for fans and needed an edge to just pay the mortgage and measly salaries of its talent. Enter Bryan Bizarre. On September 20th 1994, Bizarre arranged his own death, for the sake of entertainment. He proposed a hangman’s match posing himself against local face George the "Hot One" Elvin. The crowds ate it up, packing the small venue wanting to see either Bizarre or Elvin hang. The match was not one for the record books, but the two had a spirited exchange.
Suprisingly, at the climax of the match Bizarre changed his mind and defeated Elvin with a sleeper hold. The owner and promoter had different ideas. He couldn’t hang his face that would destroy all that this small time Ohio independent owner worked for.
Instead of hanging Elvin, the promoter attacked Bizarre with a mob of wrestlers and hung him in front of the crowd. Shortly after the show, when Bizarre was brought down from the rope, he was paid and released. The Fate of the fed called the TWO (triumphant wrestling organization) would come to pass later in a brutal volley of contract disputes and buyouts.
His days with Triumphant over, Bizarre found himself looking for work. He also hated the name Bryan Bizarre, and so he devised upon his return he would appear as a new masked wrestler. The problem was his size and skill would make it tough to just waltz into a federation, or any outfit for that matter. The answer came with a new form of wrestling.
The birth of Hardcore wrestling in the arenas and local gyms gave him the advantage. Pain had never been much of a factor with the usual bumps and a chair shot or two wouldn’t phase him much. In ’95 he enrolled in a three-week camp which introduced wrestlers to the hardcore techniques and new innovations. Donning a black thug’s mask, the "Destroyer" was born.
With some new methods and certification from the camp, the Destroyer was immediately booked in Wichita Kansas. The black mask hid his shame from the Ohio fed and with the new elements of Chair matches and steel cage table mayhem, Destroyer began to build up his body to deal with the rigors of weekly pummeling and hardcore action. His stint in Wichita would be short lived as a call from a foreign promoter who was looking for heels for some anti American sentiment in Japan whisked away Destroyer and fifty percent of the Midwest talent in the area for events.
In Japan, Destroyer went though many incarnations, until the King of the Deathmatch tournament in the fall of ’96. There, Destroyer was part of the over confident group of Americans known as the Round eyed killers. The Killers were losing match after match in the tournament to greats like Tanaka and Hayabusa, but the Destroyer would change his fate on this night battling Mr. Pogo.
The match started simply enough with an exchange of hard martial action, but got ugly when Pogo brought out the hand scythes, and alcohol to use with a flaming torch! Destroyer fell victim to a cross scythe attack to the back and turned to be blasted with burning fiery breath! Third degree burns covered his face as the leather black mask ignited from the thick oil placed on it to create shine.
Destroyer was rushed to a Tokyo hospital, and after twelve days of experimental treatment Destroyer spent his trip back to the states recovering on an ocean liner. Never again would he wrestle, the trauma from the match with Mr. Pogo was just too great.
The man known as Destroyer had been dramatically altered. The burns took all of his hair, and most of his flesh. His retinas had been severed from the blast of Pogo’s attack, and there was severe scarring from the graphing of skin. There was however a massive settlement of cash with the accident, and so Destroyer decided to see if anything could be done with his physical appearance.
A flight to Helsinki brought him in contact with a surgeon that could fix some of the horrible disfigurement. At the time of his surgeries and treatment Destroyer began to study the arts of war, and tactical strategy to kill time. He also became a student of Jut-Kun-Do, Judo, and Karate. These disciplines kept his body and mind aligned, while also aiding to the healing process. He also became interested in the Necromicon. It was his study of this document that began to shape the ideas and obsessions with the occult. He became more and more cunning, lying to his instructors as he practiced the dark arts along with his martial training.
It was approximately at the same time that he was granted black belt certification that he was also allowed to apprentice a master of the dark magiks, thus teaching the ways of necromancy. There he learned the ability to conjure and curse, along with the skill of reanimation.
With his treatments in Helsinki complete, Destroyer revealed his scarred face and was crushed by the outcome. He still was scarred and his sight was blurred. There would be no return to competition, unless his dark master could help him.
It was on this day that a bargain was struck between Destroyer and the Evil Master. For an exchange of three vials of blood, and loyalty to something called the Trinity, a collective of three ancient Demons, Destroyer was given back his true face and his sight. There was a twisted catch however; his skin had turned chalk white, and his eyes blood red! He also had a second sight, which would grow to his telekinesis and telepathy. Before leaving Finland, the master told him that his body was not dead and not alive but undead, but he would not crave the temptations of the vampire, but crave the shedding of blood as a sacrifice to the Trinity. Destroyer would now walk the dark path for the rest of his life.
Feeling a rush of power Destroyer shed his mask and changed his name to the Dark Observer, before returning to the States.
There as a virtual unknown with a taste for blood, Dark Observer embraced the foolishness and insanity of back yard wrestling. Through his blood letting, and chaotic style, Dark Observer rose in the ranks of anonymity, to a cult icon. As the sickness filled his need for mayhem, three backyard feds fought for his contract. All the time keeping his true path secret.
It wasn’t until the spring of ‘98 that Dark Observer’s antics to the attention of something bigger. There was a promoter gathering freaks out there. Soon a plan to appease the Trinity and make himself larger than life came to pass.
January ‘99 the massacre that we all remember. Two Independent back yard organizations came together to battle in an Indiana cornfield at the stroke of midnight, for those really hardcore fans, as a tribute to the savage gladiators who bled and retired for the sake of cheers. There the Dark Observer spoke for the first time, using his frustration with the narrow-minded promoters of a stale product to obliterate the competition. Twenty wrestlers were retired that evening as an orgy of hatred, blood and dismemberment left but two men standing in the ring. Dark Observer and the Executioner, A.K.A. Dark Enigma. Well as he was then, before his horrific alteration.
The scout that night watched in horrible delight as these two stood with bloodied fists, and cracked baseball bats. And there was a decision made and the Dark Observer would arrive at that new fed the following week.
Part Two:
The CWF
Police in Indiana were hot on the trail of the disaster and the Dark Observer resurfaced with a new name. UndeadEnigma. Suprisingly, the trail went cold allowing UE to operate in the CWF without law enforcement’s involvement. Instantly UE knew this place was different. Everyone wanted to be the hero. Everyone wanted to be the champion, and no one cared about rules of regulations. This was anarchy in the guise of entertainment. He made bold statements and cold accusations but this was a place of action. This was a place for mechanical mayhem. The strategy gave way to chaos, as targets were selected at random with little residual retaliation.
UE was fed up. There were many promises but no proof of success. He decided to take matters into his own hands. A young valet to an aging superstar named Grim Reaper caught his eye. A plan to bait and trap Reaper was devised.
A simple kidnapping to provoke a response was the plan but something else happened. Devilz Angel was unclaimed, and UE was left with a dilemma. It was the Trinity that came up with the plan. A live sacrifice was televised and the blood of UE was exchanged with Devilz Angel’s. To UE’s surprise a telepathic link was born, and he soon found her reading his thoughts and vice versa. A taste of power brought him to crave torment, and motivations soon molded his actions.
The flow of violence continued until the sacrifice on the broken altar prompted his instant initiation and adoption. Macky and Reapers became his immediate family as the Unholy Trinity was formed to pay homage to those three Demons who UE disguised as Undertaker, Kane, and Paul Bearer. Faction battles occurred but the psychic bond to Devilz Angel grew and soon emotional feeling got in the way of the path’s business. Anger took over and a split in personality the punishment befitting the Trinity caused a conflict within UE. Ted was manipulated to join the CWF and before his debut, a demonic curse altered him and bore Dark Enigma. UE fought with the Trinities champion and lost.
Dark Enigma struck with violent retribution severing the family relations, smashing the broken altar, burning down Macky’s home and terrorizing Devilz Angel. The possession also gave him the ability to sense and read fear. UE was still inside, and he would eventually take control making Dark Enigma nothing but a puppet to his will.
The terror continued then abruptly stopped.
UE and DE held for contract negotiations, and better opportunities. While in wait for an answer the CWF began to create a character filler for UE’s persona. The Void was billed as a future Enigma and was to warn the CWF of the coming disasters. Promoting faction severing and individuality between wrestlers, it was UE that developed a business tongue and improvised a return to insanity. But the CWF demanded a piece of the pie. Two unknown persons were added to the plan. And the Void attempting to rid the world of factional behavior and the general evil in the CWF failed his spell and exploded, bringing the Cult of Enigma to light.
The Cult of Enigma consisted of UndeadEnigma, Dark Enigma, and Needles. Acting like an organized crime gang the Cult used strong-arm tactics to intimidate other factions. Once again UE became obsessed with Devilz Angel and ordered DE to kidnap her. Upon her kidnapping was a brainwashing program and soon she Joined UE willingly despite Raven and MC’s protests.
It was at this time things began to change yet again.
The Mood changed with the addition of Stella Amgine, and CWF’s plot to explain who UE was. At this time a double named Michael Amgine was hired to act along with the angle. Growing lack of interest in the Cult soon left UE with a decision. Implode the Cult of Enigma using Michael, and keep the rights to his characters.
The domino effect can to an explosive conclusion when Dalkiel dragged Stella to the depths of Hell. The story was growing thin for the Cult. Too much had been revealed, and there wasn’t much left to tell. On the following night of August UE heard of a split resulting in the birth of the CCW. He sent DE as a scout and contract free agent to report back to him. When he was satisfied, he ordered Needles to exit by attacking in a suicidal hail of gunfire, while UE himself blew up the Golden Urn, a casino owned by UE. Devilz Angel was turned to the wolves with UE’s programming as Michael Amgine disappeared erasing the cult from the CWF.
Part Three:
CCW
It was Dark Enigma making headway in the CCW to start, continuing his master’s battles with Raven. There was also a young hardcore champion named the Ripper horrifying the ranks of the new fed, while the creaturetainment world salivated at this new product.
Then the arrival of Amgine to join Dark Enigma shocked the world. Soon after Devilz Angel appeared in the CCW and was kidnapped by the dastardly Ripper, to bait Raven yet again. Then it was revealed the Ripper a demented man who thinks he is Jack the Ripper, or at least Jack speaks though him was actually working for Michael. Devilz Angel wasn’t kidnapped at all in fact she was a member of this new group, dubbed the Black Regime.
Soon the faction wars began. DX battled with the Regime in a long feud, which resulted in many bitter rivalries. Then the Militant Amgine killed Raven. With Raven dead Tiger formed the Brotherhood of Rage and the remaining members battled adding notches to each other, but no true domination.
Then a mystic voodoo practitioner name SamHain entered the picture about the time of Raven’s death.
A campaign of military terror followed as the CCW suffered massive staff casualties as the Regime laid waste to all that stood in their path. Many suffered, including the deranged Ripper, who retired and ballooned to four hundred pounds. The tactics of Amgine caused an implosion as Dark Enigma destroyed him using a mystic amulet.
The Regime was dead. Now only Dark Enigma and Devilz Angel remained active.
Dark Enigma struggled capturing a title here and there but with no direction he suffered losses more than anything did.
Part Four:
The Regime's Return
January of 2001, a strange storm struck the CCW, following DE’s title loss. A darker red eyed man appeared instantly tormenting and manipulating Dark Enigma to point out the locations of the Ripper and Sam Hain. He was evil, dark, stronger, and colder. Sam Hain was soon murdered and the necronomicon was taken. The Ripper was given a new lease on his life and soon returned to his murderous form. Devilz Angel was visited and given a choice, for it seemed that the true UndeadEnigma had finally set foot in the CCW.
There now was UE, Ripper, DA and DE. But the disasters Amgine created had to be rectified. UE stormed into the CCW buying stock and control of a share of the company. He also arranged a shot at the CCW title. There was also a new face running around the CCW, Kveldulf the Reaver.
It was destiny that DE and Reaver were to meet. After a series of tormented attacks, DE challenged Reaver to a flaming barbed wire match. But UE had one final plan in mind.
DE was about to grasp the win when UE revealed his new enforcer, and sacrificed DarkEnigma for the failures of the past. The sacrifice was offered to the Trinity, thus returning a vow long forgotten. Now the Regime began it’s most evil campaign keeping sight of the path. The path to dominance and appease of the Trinity.
With this new force of darkness the faction wars had yet a return, with the battles intensifying. The casualties were more political this time with the implosion of Mutiny, and the disappearance of the Ripper. Kade, Scorpion, and Dr. Needles have joined the ranks of this faction just as both the Reaver and UE have acquired titles and now the nWo looms on the horizon.
The dark bonds of the Regime seem stronger than ever with UE winning the CCW title and driving his mission down the CCW’s throat.
